I have twin fifth graders. My boys are sweethearts, but they’re also full of energy and not exactly the easiest students for their teachers. Instead of a gift card or wine as a gratitude gift, this year I decided to knit them Reyna shawls instead. School for us ends at the end of May so I’ve been working hard on dueling shawls so they’re finished in time.
The Reyna shawl is a free pattern on Ravelry. It uses size 4 needles and a skein and a half of fingering weight yarn. It knits up easily and is a well written pattern. For these particular shawls I’m using Cascade 220 Peruvian Highland wool in a heather grey color and a golden yellow.
For one shawl I’m on row 115 of 140. For the second shawl I’m on row 62 of 140. Fingers crossed I finish in time!
I can’t wait to get these done. I have SO MANY projects going on in the background right now. It’s hard knitting against a deadline. I’m so not a fan.
