COMBINING MULTIPLE ORDERS

Unfortunately due to the high volume of orders received each week, shipping costs for multiple orders cannot be combined at this time. Please order carefully.

SHIPPING

Ready to ship items will ship in 1-2 business days. I always try my best to get orders out the door as quickly as possible.

All items will be shipped domestically and internationally using standard USPS First Class Mail or Standard USPS First Class International Mail for packages up to 13 oz. If your package weighs more than this we default to USPS Retail Ground Shipping (3-8 business day delivery).

Need it fast? Please contact me to discuss speedier shipping options.

Items will ship to the address on your order. Please double check your address so items are not misplaced.

If you are international, there is a chance that you will be required to pay customs fees upon receipt of your order.  I am not responsible, nor can I do anything regarding customs fees if you are outside of the US. Please be advised of your country’s Customs Duty policy prior to making a purchase.  I will not mark items as ‘gifts’ on customs labels to avoid fees as that is illegal.

An email notification is sent with a tracking number, as soon as your item is packaged and ready to ship.

Please allow 1-3 days for tracking info to appear on the USPS website after you’ve received a shipping notification. Any orders being shipped internationally cannot be tracked after they have left the US.

FLAT RATE SHIPPING RATES TAKE EFFECT AFTER THE STORE HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE WEBSITE. ETSY DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO SUPPORT THESE FLAT RATE OPTIONS AT THIS TIME.

FLAT RATE SHIPPING OPTIONS FOR ALL ORDERS; ONE FOR CANADA AND ONE FOR ALL OTHER INTERNATIONAL ADDRESSES:

Domestic Flat Rate:  $3.80 + $1.75 per item

International Flat Rate: $15.00 + $2.25 per item

International Flat Rate Canada: $12.00 + $2.25 per item

* Large orders may be subject to shipping and handling cost adjustment.
**rates subject to change without notice

Once a package is collected by the post office, delivery time is completely out of my control. If you think your package has gone missing, please notify your local post office first, and allow at least 14 days from shipment, before contacting me. Delivery is most likely delayed.

If you still haven’t received your order by then, let me know and we’ll work something out.

Regarding return shipping, please refer to my return exchange policies below.

Strawberry Hill Fiber Studio  is not responsible for lost, stolen, or packages delivered to the wrong address due to error of the mail carrier or an incorrect shipping address provided by buyer.

WHERE CAN I BUY STRAWBERRY HILL FIBER STUDIO YARN

Strawberry Hill Fiber Studio® is sold exclusively through this website. My yarn is not sold wholesale. All sales are completed online and must be shipped to the purchaser.

I do attend local fiber shows and do host occasional trunk shows at various LYS. Watch the website or follow me on social media for updates on events and our calendar.

If I have sold to you prior, and know you in real life I am happy to deliver yarns to you at pre-discussed and agreed upon times and places and without shipping costs.

RESERVING LISTINGS

In fairness to all customers, listings cannot be reserved. All items are sold on a first-come-first-serve basis.

If you need to purchase a large amount of a specific color way please read my custom orders page. I’d be happy to work with you.

CAKE WINDING SERVICE (ADD-ON SERVICE) – $5

Listed in the shop as a stand-alone service, I charge a $5 skeining fee per order. I can cake one, some or all of the skeins of yarn in your order, just let me know in the comments section at checkout.

Please note: Once yarn has been caked it is not refundable / exchangeable.

Please untwist and wind your skeins carefully!

Strawberry Hill Fiber Studio® does not offer replacements / refunds for any snags or tangles that may occur in the caking or balling process if you choose to do it yourself.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

If there is a problem with your order, please contact me within three days of receipt of the yarn via the contact page or email at strawberryhillfiberstudio@gmail.com.  Your satisfaction is a leading priority and I will make every effort to correct any mistakes made in orders.

In all other instances, sales are final. Please know that every reasonable effort is made to accurately display the yarn. I include photos of each colorway and on each base, both skeined and un-skeined, within each listing. I ask that you take the time to look at these photos before choosing to purchase the yarn. You can also learn more about each yarn base here.

Eligible returns (see above) must be requested via email within three days of the date of delivery.

Yarn must be skeined and free from exposure to smoke (once yarn has been caked or exposed to smoke, it is not returnable under any circumstances.)

Customer is responsible for return shipping costs and a 10% restocking fee.

Incorrect items and/or missing items from your order will be shipped/exchanged at no extra cost.

Yarn that has been caked or wound into a ball may not be returned.

Returned items must be shipped back in resale condition. A refund or exchange are not accepted if returned items appear used, damaged, and/or soiled.

Refunds are issued as soon as they are received at Strawberry Hill Fiber Studio.

YARN KITS

Kits are sold as is. Individual colorways / bases may not be swapped and/or substituted.

YARN CLUBS

All yarn club membership purchases are final sale. Skeins you receive throughout the subscription may not be refunded.

DYEING PROCESS

I use professional heirloom quality acid dyes and citric acid to dye on ethically sourced wool. After yarn has been dyed, it’s rinsed with lukewarm water and a commercial detergent followed by a rinse with an unscented, gentle wool cleanser to keep our yarn in the best shape possible.

Where do I get my yarn, dyes, and other supplies from?

All of my yarns are ethically sourced from reputable, cruelty-free sources.

If you’d like to learn more about my dyeing process please watch my Youtube tutorial videos. Otherwise I don’t typically disclose my suppliers, tools, and techniques, as they are unique to my brand. Please do not ask.

SHOP UPDATES

If you can’t see any yarn displayed in the shop that’s because the shop is currently sold out. Thank you beautiful people!

The time and date of my next shop update is usually on Fridays at 6pm Mountain Standard Time (MST) unless otherwise stated. I announce shop updates regularly on the website and social media. As always, my newsletter subscribers are the first to know.

OOAK COLORWAYS

A OOAK is a one of a kind skein or dyelot – often resulting from experimentation or happy accidents. I don’t take notes while working on these and they are non-repeatable.

PREORDERS

I do occasionally open up ordering for preorders. You can order any existing colorway on any available base, two skeins or more while ordering is open. There will be a 1-2 week turnaround on these skeins, any other skeins purchased in the same order will be held back until the preorders are ready to ship. I am unable to combine orders containing preorder skeins. Watch this site and social media posts for preorder openings.

YARN CARE

My bases are spun from a wide variety of fibers. Each has unique recommended care instructions. Universal yarn care suggestion no matter the fiber?

HAND WASH, COOL WATER, GENTLE WASH AND CONDITIONER, LAY FLAT TO DRY. Air drying allow your projects to last longer.

While superwash yarns are machine-washable, hand washing is always best.

COLOR BLEEDING

All of my yarn is guaranteed colorfast. I spent a good amount of time and effort after my yarn cools to wash it thoroughly with a commercial detergent in cool water. I follow up with a gentle wool conditioner to restore the fibers after the dyeing process.

However, some bleeding of excess dye may occur, especially with red, purple, magenta, or blue-based colorways. This is normal.

Take care in planning projects with very light yarn next to very dark yarns and always knit a swatch and wash it to see if the lighter colorway will be affected.

You can also try using color-catchers to prevent bleeding during the soaking process. You can find them in the laundry aisle of your local grocers.

As with all hand-dyed yarns, it’s always a good idea to rinse your project (separately) with a gentle detergent in cool water for the first few washings. If you notice any bleeding, repeat this process as necessary until water runs clear.

White vinegar can be added to your rinse to aid with dye bleeding. Vinegar is an acid, and may (no guarantee) adhere the remaining dye molecules to the fiber strands. It won’t hurt your yarn, and the smell of vinegar rinses away quickly and when the fiber dries.
